Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
I would surely like to be of help but I need to know a few details beforehand-
1)Is this pain episodic or persistent?
2)Is the neck pain associated with headache also?
3)Does the pain increases on exposure to light or sound?
4)Do you have tingling in arms or legs?
5)Have you been on routine painkillers for past few months?
Possibility of chronic tension type headache(neck pain is common variant of TTH) is likely. At the same time, possibility of cervical spondylosis is to be ruled out.Down the list,Chronic Migraine is a less likely, possibility.

Mental relaxation exercises/Amitriptyline/avoid recreational drugs
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.
It is likely to be a Tension type headache(TTH) with some medication overuse element in it.I suggest you to start doing regular dedicated mental relaxation exercises like meditation/yoga/pranayama.It will likely be of help.At the same time, please start taking tab.amitriptyline 10 mg once a day at bedtime.I hope to see you improving soon.
You must avoid recreational drugs and casual painkillers. That way, medication overuse will be taken care of.Recreational drugs may cause adverse central effects.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
