Suggest Remedy For Numbness And Tingling Sensation On Foot Suggest
Two weeks ago I was making wedding bouquets, sitting back on my knees for 3 hours.
I noticed the next day that the top of my right foot was completely numb, like the circulation had gone. it is not swollen or painful but 2 weeks on it is still numb and tingling like the feeling has yet to come back. any feedback would be great
Possible peroneal nerve injury.
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
Looking at your description and the appearance after the prolonged staying on your knees make me believe that is is a case of peroneal nerve injury.
The peroneal nerve is a peripheral nerve innervating the dorsal part of your foot. It can be damaged by direct compression (as it traverses very close to the surface just under and lateral to the knee) or prolonged stretching.
It is a benign diagnosis and since in your case there was an identifiable cause which is not there anymore (the prolonged sitting on your knee) it should recover gradually by itself although it could take some weeks.
However to confirm the diagnosis and evaluate the degree of injury (which will indicate recovery degree) testing with nerve conduction studies is recommended.
I hope to have been of help.
You're welcome

I am glad to have somewhat eased your worry. I wish I could have a XXXXXXX for every time my patients thought tingling was due to MS.
Sensory signs like tingling can have so many different causes, distribution of symptoms not typical for MS anyway and MS manifesting after the age of 45 while not impossible is unlikely.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you
