Suggest Remedy For Pain And Numbness In Lips And Chin After Tooth Extraction
Question: Hello Sir,
My age is 29. Dentist remove my wisdom tooth(right lower) on XXXXXXX 10, 2015. She used 2 stitches which has been removed after 7 days. However I do not have normal sense on my lower right lips and chin. Lower lips and chin (right part) pains a lot. Also all teeth (right lower) do not have normal sense like that of left. I'm taking Neurobion Forte from the first day but did not help. Is it normal. If yes for how many days?
Please suggest me what is the best possible thing i can do.

I have read your query and understand your concern . As far as pain and sensation of numbness is concerned in lower right lip and chin after wisdom tooth extraction this can be due to Nerve injury . Wisdom tooth extraction is complicated procedure and it is most often associated with pain , fever , swelling , numbness of lip , chin , tongue . It may be reversible nerve injury which was caused extracting wisdom tooth. Nerve when compressed , bruised or stretched also leads to numbness . Numbness can be temporary or very rarely can be permanent . Numbness can be last for several days to several months .
For this I will suggest you to do warm saline rinses 2 to 3 times a day .Use betadine mouthwash or chlorhexidine containing mouthwash . Avoid stress . For pain you can take analgesic like Diclomol SP or Zerodol SP by consulting with local doctor . Continue to take medicine Neurobion forte which helps in nerve regeneration . Visit dentist for routine checkup or if problem seems to worsen . Wishing you good health .
