Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling Near The Rib Cage

Rule out any cardiac cause , first
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Based on your history and description, the pain can be due to costochondritis or an inflammatory process involving the soft tissue of the breast or in the region of the ribcage. Mastitis or fibroadenoma could also be a possibility. However, an EKG should be advised primarily to rule out any cardiac cause for the chest pain. If the EKG is clear then the breasts should be examined. If there is localized swelling and a lump then an ultrasound of the breast can be advised. Erythema and tenderness if present can also be treated empirically by a course of antibiotics and NSAIDs. If costochondritis is case then anti inflammatory medication can be continued at maximum dose to provide adequate relief. A chest x ray should also be advised in case a history of trauma is determined. If there is difficulty in breathing associated with the chest pain then a local nerve block can be offered to avoid atelectasis.
Wishing you best of health
