Detailed Answer:
Hello,
let me understand your situation better. You've had pulmonary embolism in the past, you've been prescribed tinzaparin and while on tinzaparin you started having pain and tingling in your right shoulder and arm, Right?
Why did you have this embolism? Do you have tendency for thrombosis? Did it happen after been immobilized for some reason (fracture, surgery etc)?
Tingling and pain may be a result of pressure on the nerves that come out of the spinal canal on your neck. This is commonly caused by either an intervertebral disc protrusion or by chronic degenerative changes in vertebrae but can also be caused by tumors, infection and other equally serious conditions.
Tendinitis can sometimes cause similar symptoms but this is less likely.
Upper extremity thrombosis usually presents with edema (swelling), dilated superficial veins, bluish discoloration of the skin (cyanosis), perhaps low grade fever but it can also present with branchial plexus symptoms which may include the symptoms you mentioned but also muscle weakness.
In conclusion, I believe that nerve pressure either by an intervertebral disc protrusion or by chronic degenerative vertebral changes is the most probable explanation. Tinzaparin should protect you against any kind of thrombosis, so the thrombosis scenario does not sound very likely.
Investigation is needed anyway.
I hope you find my answer helpful!
