Suggest Remedy For Pain Around Left Ear And Swollen Lymph Nodes
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I have had pain around my left ear and down through middle of my chin. After doing 2 rounds of antibiotics it was decided that it wasn't an infection. The doctor ordered a Soft Tissue CT scan of neck with contrast to check for any masses or swollen lymph nodes. Before I could get results, My doctor had to leave town for family emergency and I was stuck talking to her nurse. She was only able to give me very little information and the info she gave was confusing. She said the CT impression stated there is no enlarged lymph nodes or masses. However she did say there was a ton of other stuff on the CT which she couldn't discuss because she wasn't a doctor and couldn't answer my questions. I'm trying to rack my brain about what all the 'other stuff' could be wrong if no masses or enlarged lymph nodes were found. I would appreciate any advice I can get as to what all a CT of the neck shows with contrast and what type of abnormalities might be seen.
Brief Answer:
Do not worry about the report.Upload images here.Review current medication.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. If lymph node enlargement and any neck mass have been grossly ruled out. you should not worry about the CT Neck report.
2. You may upload the images here for an opinion.
3. You current medication should be reviewed with your physician for side effects which may be causing these symptoms.
4. At your age, in spite of POTS and MCTD, there are unlikely to be any major findings on your CT Scan.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
