Suggest Remedy For Pain In Buttocks And Legs

needs exam and imaging
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question,
Pain in the buttock that goes down the leg can come either from the lower spinal nerves coming out of the low back or an irritation of the sciatic nerve as it passes through the pelvis in the buttock area. If I were your doctor I would start with an xray of the lower spine to make sure the discs and vertebral bodies are in alignment. If that did not give me an answer I would then check an MRI of the lower spine and sacrum. This MRI would show up nerve problems in the low back and buttock area. Whenever there is numbness there is probably a form of nerve impingement going on and you want to get this taken care of before you get permanent nerve damage.
Please see a doctor as soon as possible for exam and testing.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the follow up question.
If it has been going on for a while there is no huge rush. For example, you do not need to go to Emergency. However, with the numbness you do not want to put it off too long. Once you start getting numbness you need to find out the cause to relieve the nerve irritation as soon as you can.
If you develop sudden severe leg weakness or lose control of your ability to control your urine or your stool output then that is an emergency and you should go to Emergency right away.
Otherwise just man an appointment and be seen as soon as possible.
Best to you,
