Question : I think I burnt my esophagus eating really hot food by accident. Now I have a pain in my chest when I swallow. Any suggestions?
Brief Answer:
Esophagitis likely cause
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Pain during swallowing may be due to esophagitis ( Inflammation/erosions in the food pipe).
This can be confirmed with an upper GI endoscopy.
You can take either omeprazole or carafate for relief.
Avoid hot food till there is complete relief.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
