Suggest Remedy For Pain, Swelling And Itching On Tragus In A Diabetic

Question: Reading on other answers on Tragus I still am not finding an answer that suits me.
I have pain on the tragus left ear and has been going on for 1 week. It has now swelled up to the point its blocking my hearing. Few months ago I was diagnosed with eczema and I had dry itchy skin around the external left ear. I went through a course of antibiotics a few weeks ago as I was told I had an infection. Although that may have resolved the itchy and dry reaction, my tragus is now swollen with constant pain and very sensitive to the touch. I do have have other pre-existing conditions such as diabetes which went out of control soon after my eczema flared up. Not sure what has caused this because my diabetes was well under control with a BSL average of 6.9 now its sitting on an average of 11.6. Please note my eczema reactions were formed well before my diabetes had progressed to be a health concern for me. Also my vitamin D levels are quite high as I am taking phototherapy for my ecema. So I am not sure if diabetes is causing all of this or if an infection has called the eczema and out of control diabetes BSL. Any help would be great, my local GP just wrote it off as nothing and have not been given any antibiotics for my tragus issue.

My suggestions

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
First, I am assuming that you have been on the antibiotics for at least 10 days and there has been no response even minimally. If this assumption is wrong , you will need to continue antibiotics.
If the assumption is correct, I suggest meeting a ENT SPECIALIST.
Tragus has a tight skin. the infection in the area causes possible pus. Since the skin is tight the pain increases as the pus collects.
It will need a incision of the skin and drainage of the pus.
So meet the ENT DOCTOR.
The sugars may also correct thereafter ad infections can also cause hyperglycaemia.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal
