Brief Answer:
no, this is not normal phlegm.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I have gone through the image you have uploaded.
It seems blood in the phlegm.
Since you had asthma, possibility of chest infection (pneumonia) is more.
Another possibility is worsening bronchospasm.
Rarely coughing can also cause friction bleeding.
So I advice you to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray
3. PFT (pulmonary function test)
Chest x ray is needed to rule out infection.
PFT is needed to rule out worsening of asthma.
I also want to know about smoking habit in you.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Better to get a proper examination done than speculate,

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up query.
I can understand your situation.

In my opinion you should definitely consult a pulmonologist and discuss the things I mentioned in my previous answer. Establishing a diagnosis should be done in an orderly manner and speculating on what it "could" be is stressful and not in the least bit helpful.

Your heart problem, which you point out happens after adrenaline response is mostly due to adrenaline. Not a problem in the heart itself.

Consult a good Pulmonologist and get those tests done. We can then discuss your problem with better detail.

Hope I have helped.

Dr. XXXXXXX Bhavsar, Thanks again for your help. I was not controlling my asthma and waited too long to address minor sinus infection and bronchitis which I usually catch once a year. Also the dust level at job was high which aggravates my chest. I would feel bad at work and good at home. Bronchospasm is clearing up and I feel wonderful. if blood still in sputum in 1 week then will begin Tests you mentioned. I have a 6000.00 deductible so I want to be sure it is needed. My energy level is great and appetite has returned, cannot stop eating I guess it was effecting me more than I thought it was. Thank You for your help. XXXX

Brief Answer:
you can wait for 7-10 days more

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your problem and situation.
In my opinion you are having asthma or chronic bronchitis because of chronic dust exposure.
And you are having blood in phlegm, this needs further investigations to reach the diagnosis and to start appropriate treatment.
So clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT are needed in your case.
And yes, you can wait for 7-10 days more.
But I still insist to get done pulmonologist consultation, even if your are not having blood in phlegm. This is to prevent future complications of untreated asthma or chronic bronchitis.
So better to first diagnose yourself and than plan further actions.
Hope I have solved your query.
