Suggest Remedy For Pins And Needles On Face Along With Numbness On Mouth

Question: I am a 48 year old female A/A I was an active smoker for 30 years stopped 3 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with a TIA 3 weeks ago. From ever since I am not feeling like myself at nights a feel a hot sensation running true my left side, pins and needles on my face left side and numbness on my mouth, I also feel a terrible headache on and off. I started aspirin 160 mg daily Im on Metroplol/HCTZ 50/25., My Hemoglobin is 8 due to heavy bleedings in the past.

I read through the entire query and found that we need to address to very important issues here. One is recent nicotine withdrawal and anemia of Hb 8gm/dl. Both of these things can cause the symptoms what you had described. And for TIA was it diagnosed by a Neurologist? A Neurologist is actually one who is trained to diagnose TIA. Yeah the matter of fact that you were a smoker is a big big risk factor. But that does not end the life for you. TIA is like a warning signal.

You should continue to abstain from smoking and address the anemia with an Internal medicine doctor. So you need some support to keep the abstainence may be an Psychiatrist/Addiction medicine specialist. Same time keep the blood pressure under control. Continue aspirin and Metoprolol they tend to reduce the chances of TIA if it is really one. Hot sensation, pins and needles can be felt in anemia as well, correct it with the help of IM specialist.

I feel less nervous with your response thank you very much, I even slept much better last night I think im a bit anxious too as soon as they diagnosed me at the ER with TIA I felt like i was already in my last days. I just wanted to clarify , the heavy bleeding that i spoke about was because i had for a period of time very heavy menstrual periods, no one knows what was that until a gynecologist mentioned that it might be becuase of my hypotiroidism that wasnt under control, ones i started with the syntroid my period became much more lighter and lasted less days, then i was diagnosed lately with cervical radiculopathy ( C5 C6). I forgot to mentioned i used to drink alcohol daily maybe 3 drinks every night i also noticed that i became dizzy ones i changed position like sitting and then when i stand i became very dizzy i think maybe that is what happened to me when i was diagnosed with the TIA. Because i had at that time numbness to my mouth. I stopped drinking and smoking at the samte time 3 weeks ago.

Hi,

I think once the low hemoglobin and iron deficiency/blood loss is treated you should not have further episodes of dizziness. Anemia contributes to these ailments. You feel lot better if your anemia is treated and it also improves your mood.

Alcohol is not good when you are anemic. It can injure the liver severely. So I suggest you to choose one fine day and quit it as well. Your radiculopathic pain would soon be past thing.
