
Suggest Remedy For Rash After Wearing Surgical Boots For Sprained Ankle

Question: I have been wearing a surgical boot for sprained ankle it will be 6 weeks this Thursday and now I am getting a rash and a leather looking skin where boot covers leg and an itchy rash at misc. places on body mainly sweaty areas

I have studied your case, If you are having no pain in walking than you can stop wearing this. If there is still pain than you can replace this boot with elastocrape bandage.You should also take following precautions.
1.Keep your foot dry with clotrimazole powder.
2.Wash it daily.
3.Keep it elevated over pillow so that swelling will be less.
4. Discuss with your doctor if you are developing any contact dermatitis, you may need to take anti allergic medicine like Atarax.
