Question: I am on a second course of the same antibiotic Doxycycline 100 mg x8 to now remove sinus infection (? ) in upper body .After 3 days off the first course,I started becoming more ill again . I have lost much weight but am eating . Paracetamol and 3.75 Zoplicone at bedtime allows me some sleep . Apnoea waking me in the night .Constantly my head ,upper chest feel blocked but unable to bring up mucus .Breathing slightly laboured ,voice constricted and sounds muffled to me . Little or no pain anywhere. No sounds on lung .Chest X-ray showed no problem one week ago .NHS refused the scans suggested by your team . Pharmacist suggested sinuses are infected . I can walk around fine but am feeling weak from exhaustion / anxiety .Since Behcet's my body seems to react intensely to stress . I lack stamina since Behcet's .

Seems like you are not responding to doxycycline

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Welcome to healthcare magic...
I had gone through your question... I can understand your suffering...I see many patients with similar complaints...yes you have sinus infection responsible for all your symptoms...I recommend the following....
1) change of antibiotic since you are not responding...tablet levofloxacin 500 mg once a day after food for 5 days more effective for sinus infection
2) To dissolve mucous secretion and ventilate the infected sinus tab levocetrizine with ambroxol and steam inhalation...
3) Avoid exposure to dust, exposure to cold air and refrigerated food as they aggravate the symptoms
Am sure you will feel much better...no more investigations required...wish you a speedy recovery... If you have any questions am happy to help you.... Take care...
