Suggest Remedy For Red Rashes On Penile Head With Mild Irritation

I've recently noticed a rash around the head of the penis. It's red, and there are no bumps or inflammation. It seems to be limited to just the bottom of the head and surrounds it, almost like a ring. It's fairly mild, and in the attached picture I had to use a flash because it is not evident at all without bright lighting, but the lighting makes it look worse. I have had no sores or painful blisters, and have been worrying about it for about a week now. If I think back I believe that I've also had this before, but recently had unprotected sex a week ago which made me anxious. My partner claims that she was clean and had no symptoms at that time.
It is not painful or itchy, and there is maybe at the most mild irritation. Some other things which I think could be relevant are that I've been using a harsh body wash on that area in the shower. I surf a lot, and many times notice that there is a lot of friction between that area and my wet suit.
Could this be herpes? Or is it some kind of irritation, or just normal?
Also in the picture you may notice a cut on the shaft, this is unrelated and I believe was caused by falling from a 10 foot wave and landing in...that area.
Thank you
Not herpes. Just relax. Simple mild excoriated areas only.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.
I can understand your concern for the rash and possibility of herpes in the same.
After reviewing your picture with best diligence let me first reassure you that the present condition doesn't seems to be related to herpes. The rash appears to be related to simple mild excoriated skin. It could happen due mild friction or improper hygiene.
In herpes there are multiple small blisters which burst up to form ulcers. These are quite painful and heals in 7 to 10 days of time. The first episode takes even longer than the usual time.
So getting by your time cascade there had not been any multiple painful ulcers in yourself. The picture shows only mild excoriated areas which heals without any problems.
I suggest you to kindly maintain a good hygiene. Avoid unprotected intercourse in future. Do not try to frequently examine the area as can get further irritated.
I hope you must be relaxed to the simple facts regarding your condition.
With regards,
