Question: I got rice grain stuck in the wind pipe.. I tried coughing and drinking water...gargling with salt water. But nothing seems to solve the problem. What do i do..I donot hve problem breathing. Its just the irritation or uneasiness that i feel in my throat..

With such presentation, I would perform ENT examination to rule out congestion or redness of oral cavity, respiratory system (broncho constriction) for added sounds (wheeze), If necessary laryngoscopy and x-ray chest to know the status of voice box and lungs. You may require antihistamines, steroids and antacids. I will recommend you see a nearby ENT surgeon. He/she will know about the evaluation (investigations) foreign body in wind pipe.
