Brief Answer:
Pain could be due to venous stasis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is quite a rare symptom I must admit.
As a Vascular Surgeon, I can think of Venous stasis as one of the reasons for such a pain. It might not be true but its worth giving it a try.
Due to lying down there is a stasis or slowing of the blood in the calves which can be painful in some individuals. I suggest you start wearing Compression stockings Class II which you can probably get at any medical store. Just ensure that they are tight as per your size. Also, try and elevate the leg end of your bed so that the feet are elevated about 30 to 40 degrees above. Try and do these two maneuvers and then see if the pain persists.
These measures will serve to decrease venous pressure in the calves and decrease or take away the pain that you experience.
Do let me know.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
