Upper respiratory infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
Throat pain, severe cold and runny nose symptoms without fever or body pain are likely due to inflammation of throat which in turn is because of upper respiratory infection (pharyngitis, laryngitis, epiglotitis).
Majority of cases throat pain are due to viral infection, but in some cases it is related to bacterial infection (streptococcal pharyngitis).
You are likely to be having viral throat infection with cold.
Let me know some more information about you
1) Do you have painful swallowing or feel pain while swallowing liquid or solid?
2) Do you have coughing?
However, you should take symptomatic treatment since you do not have fever or body symptoms.
1) Take pain killers with anti-inflammatory combination (like combiflam tablets) twice or thrice daily (but not more than 4 tablets per day) for throat pain which are available over the counter.
They will also help to reduce further inflammation in throat and thereby will help to subside symptoms quickly.
2) Antihistamines like levocetrizine 10 mg (brand name L-Dio 1) twice daily for cold and runny nose.
3) Steam inhalation with warm salt water gargles if possible during traveling which will certainly help for symptomatic relief.
4) Antibiotics will not require here since you do not have fever or body pain symptoms.
Hope this will help you and get back to me with more information as I asked.
Thanks and Regards,
Dr.SandipKabra
