Posted on Tue, 27 Oct 2015
Question: I go from uncontrollable diarrhea to stomach bloat, pain in middle & extending to rt side to constipation. I thought I was having a heart attack & went to ER - I am a heart patient w/ 3 heart surgeries . Not heart r/o by stress test. Was scoped & told I had gastritis. Today I had X-ray & images w/ & w/o contrast. Negative. My abdomen is so extended & painful I look like I am expecting twins. I don't know what to do next???

Brief Answer:
Acute enteritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

From the history you have given it looks like you are suffering from acute enteritis which is nothing but infection of the colon. Gaseous distention of the stomach is common with such infection.
Here is what you should do

1. I usually treat with a combination tablet of ciproflox with tinidazole for a period of 5 days
2. tab omeprazole to be taken 30 min before food once a day for gastritis
3. avoid milk, milk products, caffeine, smoking and alcohol until you are better
4. drink plenty of water
5.gelusil mds will reduce the gaseous distinction, take 2 tsp three times a day

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
