Brief Answer:
Go for MRI left knee.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Severe knee pain could be due to muscle or ligament strain. Due to associated muscle spasm, you might be unable to fold your left leg completely.
As pain is severe, I suggest you to go for MRI of left knee to see any ligament injury.
Doing hot fomentation and applying muscle relaxant gel will be helpful.
You can take muscle relaxant tablets after prescription of your doctor to relieve pain and spasm.

Hope this helps you.

Warm regards.
