Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain On Right Side Of Body
Health record: 15 years ago I had osteomyelitis and had a surgery on my upper right thigh to remove a tissue of my bone that resulted from streptococcus. I have regular checkups for that issue (once a year). Also, I have scoliosis.
However, the pain has become worse recently and I am interested in possible diagnoses. Thank you.
Neurological cause likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The chronic pain on the right side of the body involving both arm and leg is likely to be due to a neurological cause. This can be due to a decrease in blood supply in one half of XXXXXXX due to atherosclerosis or neural degeneration. The pain is not likely to be associated with osteomyelitis you had 15 years ago. However the pain can be postural due to a muscle spasm caused by scoliosis.
It is best to consult a neurologist for a thorough examination and investigations to find out the cause. Neurological pains are often difficult to treat. Medicines like pregabalin and gabapentin can help you. Regular physiotherapy and methylcobalamin supplements will also help in improvement.
I hope this answers your query.
