Suggest Remedy For Severe Upper Back Pain

Question: I have been having upper back pain for about 3 weeks. Had blood work and chest x ray both normal. Feels muscular but I do not know why it would last so long. Left side mid to upper back. Movement/changing positions has no effect, unless I stretch forward I really feel it. A massage therapist told me my muscles were in knots and tight. However, I still worry it is internal. I had a ct of lungs/heart done one year ago. It was normal. I had a stress echo 3 years ago. Normal. I am a huge hypochondriac with high anxiety. But this back pain is getting worse. What internal problems could cause this? Or is muscles an option? I sit at a desk all day and do not have good posture. Could this cause it as well?

I have had an xray of all 3 areas of the spine that showed nothing. Would an MRI still be worthy?
Brief Answer:
You can take physiotherapy first and if no relief then you can go for MRI.
