Brief Answer:
To rule out Cushing's syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your question. I gather that your recent thyroid function tests are normal on 120 mcg Armor thyroid. In that case, we need to look at an alternate cause of weight gain. One of the causes of spontaneous weight gain is Cushing's syndrome. Do you have high blood pressure, pinkish stretch marks in abdomen or easy brusing? These may indicate Cushing's syndrome ( cortisol excess) which is a cause of weight gain. You may need to talk to your PCP to get tests done to rule out Cushing's syndrome.
