Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Pain In Eyelids

Question: Hello doctor,

I have swelling and pain in my right upper eyelid.
It started yesterday morning with pain in the inner corner of right eye and today along with pain there is some swelling also in upper eyelid.
I have done warm compress twice today with some relief in pain.

I would also like to mention here that I have delivered 1.5 months back and as the baby keeps getting up at night, my sleep is inadequate. Also, I am taking Iron and Calcium supplements.

Please let me know what and why is the pain? Please suggest a treatment which can be done while nursing.

Thanks for sending your query to us.

This is meibominitis, a lid margin infection.Continue with warm compresses.You need Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 5 days and tablet Combiflam tablet one tablet twice a day. This will relieve pain in less than 2 days. Still continue with the treatment for another 2 days. Please get the appropriate prescription from your local physician..
