I originally went in with UTI symptoms. they put me on bactrum and I was back in there two days later with severe kidney pain. turns out the bactrum wasn't working so she gave me a shot in my right buttock of a large dose of antibiotics and also put me on the cephalexin at that time. I never had any fever at the doctor but I am not sure if I had one at any other time. I started feeling better about 5 days into my antibiotic, but then noticed the swelling in my left armpit. it does not really hurt when I press or squeeze it, however it feels like it has spread around my armpit and seems kind of hard when I press on it. no history of cough and no redness of the skin on my armpit.
Brief Answer:
Reactive Lymphadenitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for getting back to me with the answers.
Urinary tract infection does not by itself cause enlargement of lymph nodes nor does it cause painful lymphnodes.
However when someone gets fever it is possible to have reactive lymphadenitis where lymphnodes get inflammed in response to the fever. It requires no treatment, it settles down in about 2-3 weeks on its own. However if it persists even after 2 weeks I recommend that you get a Biopsy or a fine needle aspiration to confirm the diagnosis.
In the mean while please avoid squeezing it or touching it as it may cause more inflammation.
If a doctor is easily accessible then please get it examined, preferably by a general surgeon.
I hope I was of help, please get back to me for any further queries
