I do not know the particular antibiotics. My son is in prison and I was not allowed information. IV antibiotics were given at hospital and an oral follow up antibiotic.
Brief Answer:
Continue antibiotics for one more week.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I feel sorry for your son.
I understand your concern and situation
But it is great he got antibiotics iv at right time. It is usually suggested to take two week regimen of oral antibiotics to treat cellulitis. In most cases, symptoms will improve or disappear within a few days. I suggest rest and ensure to raise the affected limbs. Cellulitis should go away within seven to 10 days of starting antibiotics. Longer treatment could be necessary as appears in your case. He must continue antibiotics for one more week. Get blood culture sensitivity done.
Hope I answered your query
