Brief Answer:
Needs care.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having upper lip swelling. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is there any pain ?
Is your swelling associated with bleeding ?

Kindly get back to me with the details.

Post suturing, swelling is common for 7-10 days due to stitches (suturing material- catgut absorbs water and swells).

In my opinion, your treating doctor already prescribed the antibiotics and pain killers.

I suggest you to take serratiopeptidase (Serratia E-15 protease, tab. serralysin 10mg twice daily (needs medical prescription). It is a enzyme, relives swelling and promotes healing.

Meantime, avoid causing irritation around your sutures in your daily routine. Do not drink alcohol or smoke while your mouth is still healing, and be careful to avoid the stitches while you are brushing your teeth. Also avoid hot foods and beverages, spicy foods and foods with sharp edges.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
contiue serratiopeptidase.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

Your symptoms are not suggestive of active infection. It is not advisable to remove absorbable sutures before the stipulated time, as there is more chances of wound dehiscence/separation.

I would like you to continue with serratiopeptidase tablets. It helps in reducing the swelling. Your local doctor will know about this drug.

All the best.
