My Impression-Lip swelling / tinglling due to Topical Lip drugs used.

Hi,Dear,thanks for the update question.
As you submitted - "My lip is still tingling- but without the blister or severe swelling. What could this be caused from?",which clearly explains that the severe swelling or blister has gone and only tingling is there.
So I replied for the cause of the blister and swollen backs,2 weeks back.

Thanks for updates on the current condition-that the lip tingling and swelling is still there.
Based on the facts of the drugs used-
-The Carmex Lip Balm-used by You for the emollient action,mostly is the cause-with its continued side effects of Lip swelling and tingling-which is due to the allergic reaction to the ingredients mostly salicylic acid and chocolate butter or --Allergy to Benzocain in Anbesol gel,could be the possible cause of the persistant lip swelling with tingling of the lip.

Treatment Suggested-
Omit the Carmex lip balm and Anbesol Gel STAT-immediately.

Take following medicines with your GP doctor under his guidance and cover of script-
Inj-Dexamethasone-2 ml stat -I/M ly(Intra-Muscularly) to control the allergic effect locally
Tab Allegra-Fexofenadine-180 mg 1 daily
Tab Dexamethasone-.5 mg 1 x 2-3 times per day
Aloevera lip gel locally -frequently to reduce the chapped lip effect.
Plenty of fluids for proper hydration of the body and lips.
With this the condition would be in control in 2-5-7 days time.
Do take Dermatologist opinion if need be.
