Brief Answer:
allergies?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This sounds like you are having some sort of allergic reaction. Polymyalgia rheumatica is an autoimmune disorder so it is possible that your immune system is impaired and you are not able to protect yourself against allergens as well as you have in the past. I suggest that you try a non-sedating antihistamine like loratadine and see if that helps. It is the generic for Claritin and is available over the counter.
I hope this helps you with the problem with your eyes. If it does not then I suggest that you see an ophthalmologist or an allergist.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
