Suggest Remedy For Weird Sensation On Tongue

Question: My tongue does not hurt but the tip feels like it has dirt or foreign material on it. I am constantly trying to remove it or spit it out but I can't see anything there. If I rub it against the back of my lower lip or the roof of my mouth the skins that I rub feel rough. It feels as though I get small pieces of skin between my teeth to bite on but I don't think there is any skin between my teeth even though it feels very real.

The sensation of foreign body in the tip of the tongue is due to the transient damage to the sensitive nerve endings at the tip of the tongue.

This is commonly noticed following consumption of hot food or beverages, fizzy drinks, sharp food, such as wafers, etc.

Do not worry! This will become normal after a few days when the inflamed nerves regain their function. Till then, avoid brushing of the tip of your tongue over the teeth or lips. Drink plenty of warm water, consume adequate fresh fruits and vegetables.
