It typically affects the folds of skin down there along with the area under the prepuce and the glans in males. Now the reasons for this infection can be many. It can occur in obese people due to increased sweating and maceration of skin, in diabetics, in patients on antibiotics, on immunosuppressive drugs or it can be sexually transmitted. Also although coconut oil is a natural antifungal, but for the time being you can avoid its use. Also since it is causing tenderness in your case, it basically means that your skin seems to be reacting to it. This can also be another aggravating factor in your case.
