Question : My son is trying to detox himself at home. Is Declinol or is there any natural or alternative medication that can help him curb his drinking habits?

I can understand your concerns for your son.

Alcohol withdrawal symptoms can be serious sometimes.

I would not advice him to try declinol or any herbal supplements to detox himself. This can result in some serious withdrawal symptoms.

The best way is to start with benzodiazepines like lorazepam (prescription drug). It is given for short term, usually 7-10 days and then withdrawn.

Kindly consult a psychiatrist/addiction medicine specialist and follow his advice further.
