Suggest Tests To Diagnose Epilepsy

Question: Hello,
In 2009, I had an episode of seizure and was admitted into a hospital in XXXXXXX I dont remember how it happened. My friends say, I was standing and talking and fell down suddenly, while falling I hit my head against a cupboard and then I had a seizure. I was admitted into a hospital. The doctors treated me and discharged me after 2 days and I have very less memory of that incident. I was given a medication for a month. They did a CT scan in 2009 which according to the report was normal. At that time I felt everything was normal after the episode but when I applied for a health insurance in 2012, I was rejected saying I had epilepsy (they asked me for previous medical history). When I went through my old records of the 2009 episode, I noticed that the doctor had diagnosed me with Seizure disorder. Not having much knowledge at that time, I did not do a follow up. How do I confirm that I have epilepsy? Was that seizure a one off incident? There has been no repeat of any seizure or such symptoms since then. Off late, i have become very forgetful and this has been a pattern since that episode. Is it related in anyway? I was also diagnosed with ADHD in 2014, and i was experiencing ADHD related symptoms from a very long time. In a recent checkup by Thyroid stats were slighly elevated. T3 was 1.14, T4 was 8.4 and TSH was 7.77. My Cholestrol was high too.. Tryglycerides were 383, Total Cholestrol was 234, LDL was 158, HDL was 36, VLDL was 40.

EEG ( electroencephalogram ) is one of test for confirmation of epilepsy. but not specific for epilepsy.
Also MRI of Brain is useful if seizure after any injury.
