Suggest The Dosage For Regestrone To Delay Periods

Last month I got my periods on 9th July. This time, I wanted to postpone them due to some reasons. I started taking regestrone 5mg on 5th August night ( 2 tabs). But I see some spotting today. Should I continue the tablets or just let it come ?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
It seems that you have taken 2 tablets yesterday night and are having spotting now.
The reason for this may be that by the time you took the tablets the periods were already starting and so now you have spotting despite the tablets.
It now becomes difficult to predict how the periods will behave from here on. They may just stop after the two tablets [ more likely] or there may be continuous spotting.
As of now, I suggest that continue taking the tablets twice daily 10 mg for 2 days. If the bleeding stops with this in a day or two then continue them for another 3 days. They will help to delay periods for a week or so, I cannot predict what will happen after that if you decide to continue them even after 5 days.
If after the first two days of the tablets, the bleeding does not stop, discontinue them as it is not likely to stop and so let the periods flow.
Hope this helps you.
Feel free for any more queries.
Take care.
