My answer is as follows

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to HCM and thank you for your question. I carefully read your query.

Yes, you may halve the dosage of the 100 mg of that drug, and you can increase Hydrochlorthiazid to 25 mg a day. If your problem is the swelling on your ankles, then it is a well-known side effect of amlodipin (Norvasc). I would recommend you to remove amlodipin from the therapy and restore ramipril (Altace) on your therapy, so the ankle swelling will go away. Since the effect of anti-hypertensive drugs sometimes take 7-14 days to reach their plateau, there may be some fluctuations of your blood pressure figures at first, but my opinion is that your blood pressure figures will soon be returned to controlled and normal. Above all this, I would recommend you to consult your curing doctor about these changes. One thing is for sure, ankle swelling is a well-known, not rare, side effect of amlodipin.

I hope I was of help. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton

Welcome back

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Yes. It is safe to take combined acebutolol, ramipril and hydrochlorthiazid to control hypertension, and to keep it on the figures we want to achieve. Swollen ankles will be avoided with discontinuation of amlodipin. It is safe and highly effective to combine a beta-blocker with an angiotensinogen converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE-i: ramipril) to "fight" hypertension.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
