Suggest The Ideal Quantity Of Pulses To Be Taken Instead Of 8 Eggs
My name is XXXXXXX from Capco and login is
I had received a diet chart sometime back. Request if you can divert my question to a dietician .
Being a vegetarian if i am looking for protein intake equivalent to 8 eggs on daily basis then can you please let me know how much quantity of Pulses /sprouts / green peas i can have to make it to that level provided if i have only these options to intake. I sometimes do have Paneer too on on/off basis but doctor has advised me to avoid too many dairy products.
Green Peas can we have it raw on daily basis or should be boiled?
Any other sources of protein that you can suggest and is easily available and not needed to get into too much cooking as i reside in a paying guest so don't have much options to cook etc
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
I do have a wonderful series of charts on my Pinterest Board under vegetarianism on my Pinterest Board under Kathy Shattler that has all of this information.
Eight eggs have a total of 56 grams protein.
Cow Peas(Black eyed peas): 3.5 oz (not quite 100 gms.) has 24.1 gm protein
Boiled Peas 100 grams: 3.3 grams protein
Sprouts, 1 Tb: .1 gm. protein
Paneer, 100 grams: 18.4, need two dairy servings per day made with A and D fortified milk or take a D supplement and where are you getting your calcium?
Lima Beans, 100 g: 8 grams of protein
Soy: 10 grams per 1/2 cup cooked
Tempeh and 15 gms tofu (firm) cooked
Vegie Burgers with patties made of soy burger ( about 25 grams approx)
Cumin-spiced Tofu (can you use refrigerator? buy prepared and store in refrigerator (7g)
Nut Butters: 8 grams per 2 Tablespoons
Isolated Whey Protein Supplements 20 grams protein in one container scoop. Isolated whey is highest quality blend. In order to avoid muscle breakdown you need .8 grams of protein per kg of body weight. Avoid muscle breakdown. You also need adequate but not excessive calories. Inadequate calories will lead to using protein to sustain energy needs.
Also, don't forget a balanced diet, fruits and vegetables. The starches always seem to creep in no matter what.
I hope I have addressed your question. If I have, kindly close and rate.
