Suggest Treatment After Accidental Contact Of Weed Killer In Eye
Question: Dropped a spray container of diluted Gordon's Trimec weed killer and some of the liquid splashed into my eyes. I immediately rinsed the eyes with water and then applied some eye drops. This occurred about 12 hours ago. My eyes seem slightly irritated but no other current symptoms. Should I see a doctor or optometrist? Thanks.. XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Yes an ophthalmologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
You have done the right thing by washing the eyes with water. That is the most important thing. Some irritation may persist. It will most probably go off on its own.
However, it will be prudent to see an ophthalmologist (specialist doctor for eyes) who can examine and rule out any serious problem and also prescribe simple remedies to relive irritation.
Overall nothing to worry much.
Hope this helps. I will be available for followup.
Regards
