Question: My son is 8, a 25-week premie with CVI and Auditory Neuropathy. Like suffered a stroke during birth trauma, with mild CP. He has always had visible veins on his arms and upper chest, but they have recently become extremely vivid, almost green or dark blue in tint. Should I be concerned? He is well hydrated, but they have suddenly started appearing all over his chest and arms.

Brief Answer:
needs medical attention as soon as possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
With the given history and especially stroke during birth trauma I would suggest you to get medical attention Asap.
The distension of veins can indicate an obstruction to venous return from head to heart.
This could be due to many reasons including blood clotting issues, mass in the chest or neck.
Continue hydration till you get medical attention.
Wishing your child good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
