Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
Cauda equina syndrome is related to compression and/or damage of the nerve roots at the terminal part of the lumbar spine after they leave the spinal cord.
Compression may result from mass effect of different conditions ( herniated disc disease, tumor, vertebral fracture etc.)
Bowel and bladder problems are part of this syndrome and very hard to treat.
One of the few things to do is to remove any compression surgically, so, it is necessary to upload any imaging studies of your lumbar spine after the operation,
It is also necessary to provide more information about the condition that led to operation, the type of the operation, etc. in order to understand better your condition and give you an appropriate answer.
Awaiting for more information.....,

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for the additional information.
Unfortunately, a little remains to do since all that time passed with bowel and bladder problems.
Rehabilitation is one of the few things to do and this includes physical therapy (strengthening exercises, sitting balance, transfer training, and tilt table as tolerated), counseling, occupational therapy.
These are treatment modalities that may improve bowel and bladder dysfunction and are performed in specialized centers.
OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) injection may be used to improve urinary incontinence.
If hydrocodone doesn't work other possibilities should be tried to control the pain ( Fentanyl transdermal patches for example).
All these issues should be discussed in details with your treating Doctor.
Hope I helped you. Please let me know if you have any further queries.
Take care.
