Question: Hello Dr,
I have crhon's disease and I took humira for a year and I stopped it. Now, I'm taking it again because I feel bad. I took my first shot before two weeks and it was 4 pens. My second shot was last Wednesday and it was 2 pens. I don't feel better! is it normal? and what do you think about it?

BTW Last time I started it, it made me feel better in the first week!

I'm just worried.

Brief Answer:
Wait until 12 weeks from starting treatment...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

Usually, the effects of Humira (adalimumab) are evident within the first 4 weeks of starting the treatment.

As different patients react differently to this drug, sometimes, it will take longer to see evident effect. That's why I advise to wait for 12 weeks to see if any changes.

If no improvement after 12 weeks, then, this therapy is concluded as "Failed". Further evaluation by your GI doctor is needed then to change therapy.

Hope it answered to your queries!
