Suggest Treatment For DVT In Leg Other Than Warfarin
Question: i was detected with DVT in my right leg . My entire illiac vein is blocked and also had a PE.
Currently i am on 2 mg every nigh of warfarin ( for life) and blood pressure tabs ( 1o mg of thelma, 10 mg of metpure, 10 mg lipicure ). at the end of hte day i get swelling on my foot . My job is desk sitting . Apart from this i have started experiencing hair loss due to the warfarin i suppose . I would like to know is there any alternative to warfarin ( i dont want to loose more hair ) and how long will it take to clear the clots in my vein. Is 2 mg a low dose for me ?

Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
You will need anticoagulants for life in view of the seriousness of the disease.
I want to know whether you were on Oral contraceptive at that time or you were bed ridden.
Whether you are overweight.
Also tell me the the blood reports of homocysteine levels, protein C & S levels and latest INR value while you are on Acitrom.
I will try to answer the query with these details.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
