Brief Answer:
You have confirmed diabetes
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr. XXXXX,
Thanks for your general query.
1. You are certainly a confirmed case of Diabetes. Given your age, the type of diabetes (Type 1- Insulin dependent or
Maturity Onset Diabetes in Young) needs further inputs. Insulin would be required in the first type, while blood sugar can be controlled with oral anti-diabetic drugs in the other type.
2. PPBS value- though perfectly within desirable range- being lower than FBS, is usually due to low-carb breakfast, pre-breakfast physical exercises or, inappropriate dose/frequency/timing of anti-diabetic agents.
3. Values of all subtypes of
Cholesterol are elevated, which is a common finding in
uncontrolled diabetes. These values are likely to come down once diabetes is perfectly controlled. However, use of lipid-lowering agents cannot be ruled out, particularly if you are
overweight, have an unhealthy lifestyle or have
hypertension.
4. Other blood reports are perfectly within normal range and thereby, ruling out any secondary infection.
Hope I have addressed your concerns to your complete satisfaction and you find my response helpful and informative. I will be happy to answer further queries, if any.
Take care,
Col (Dr.) Rakesh Karanwal
