Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the query,
If your GERD is not properly controlled then this may cause persistent cough and sensation that the throat may need to be cleared. In addition, postnasal drainage can also contribute to this presentation.
If you feel your GERD is well controlled, you may consider talking to your doctor about a cortisone containing nasal spray which may help to decrease postnasal drainage.
If however, the GERD is not well controlled then you may need an adjustment of your medication regimen to have a positive impact on these symptoms.
Sincerely,

At times my voice also gets hoarse you did not answer anything about the ability to takes a deep breath which is very annoying is this all related to gerd or is it something else
Brief Answer:
Followup
Detailed Answer:
Regarding the breathing issue - yes could be related to GERD but may reflect allergy or asthma. Allergy may also tie into the post-nasal drainage.
I think a comprehensive medical exam should help your doctor decide how to approach this as we could be dealing with more than one phenomenon.
GERD is well known to cause hoarseness so I suspect that this may be part of the issue.
