Brief Answer:
IgG for HSV 1 and 2 are positive which may indicate past infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Findings suggest positive IgG for herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 and it may indicate past infection by these viruses. It does not necessarily indicate that HSV is the causative agent of an acute illness.
However,IgM for HSV 1 and 2 are negative.IgM indicate about recent infection.

Your condition also need clinical correlation. It is good that IgM are negative and your findings(positive IgG) may indicate past infection.

Other findings like hepatitis C antibodies and RPR are negative.

Hope I have answered your question.

So the test results determine that I have herpes? Why does it say Postive H then followed by Negative?

Brief Answer:
Findings doesn't indicate that you are suffering from HSV infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Sorry for replying late.

Findings doesn't indicate that you are acutely suffering from HSV infection.
Only IgG is positive and it is reported as H(high),it may indicate past infection by HSV.Positive IgG is often found in normal population.
The negative next to the H positive result is the normal value one would expect in person with no present or past infection. They are the normal range values used as a reference in the laboratory to decide what is normal and abnormal.

However,IgM is more important and it is negative in your case.
Positive IgM is indicative of recent(acute)infection.
