Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

Question: Hi Doctor. In the very beginning, just a few years back, I was diagnosed with TSH Value 5.78. My Gynae told me not to take any Thyroid medication as it is almost normal value. But still I was having severe pain in my thighs and Besides I used to feel tired all the time. So I started taking thyronorm, previously 25 and then 50 micromg on my friend's advice. Now when my thyroid TSH Values comes to around 2.8 always, I on my own stopped taking thyronorm 50cmg for the last seven days. But my weight suddenly increased by two kg and I also feel cold and lethargic. I don't want to open my eyes and there is severe pain in my thighs also. Please advice
Brief Answer:
You need to continue taking thyroxine.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX, hi! you are hypothyroid. TSH of 5.78 needs replacement. in place of gynae you should have consulted an endocrinologist. now that you have come to know how it feels without thyroxine replacement , and you have already restarted, test yourself after 4 weeks and let me know. regards!
