Question: Been told that I have Iodamoeba Buetschlii trops and cysts. Also been told that there is no treatment for this problem. I am having many loose stools and I am feeling sick to my gut, as I put it. Especially after a bowel movement? Do I have to put up with this condition for the rest of my life? Any information or help would be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Iodamoeba butschlii & its treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Iodamoeba butschlii is a non-pathogenic parasitic ameba, commonly found in the large intestines of people, though prevalence is low (4-8%). Humans may experience diarrhea.

Cysts are the infective stage of I. bütschlii.

The patient can be treated with dehydroemetine and chloroquine (erstwhile treatment for Entamoeba histolytica-cause for human intestinal and hepatic amebiasis).
