Question: I recently started to have distended jugular veins. It happened about two weeks ago and they haven't gone down. I'm not sure if this is a heart issue, as I currently have a lot of electric type pain in my heart. I have pain in the neck and jaw.
My veins in my hands have been swollen also, but they will go down if I am cool. Sometimes, I'll wake up too warm and they will be bulging, or if I take a hot shower they will bulge. It gets painful to bend my fingers when this happens. This is not normal as it just started happening and has never happened before.
I'm currently treating Lyme Disease, but I've also tested positive for Babesia. I do have tachycardia and low BP.

Brief Answer:
Get an echocardiography done

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and have checked the attached images. Let me assure you that you need not worry about the engorgement of the viens over your forearm. It is perfectly normal for these veins to be engorged and is not a cause for concern.

I am sure that the treatment of Lyme's and Babesia would lead to recovery. However, I would like you to specify/enumerate what exactly you seek to know from me.

Regarding the engorgement of your jugular, I do not find it apprehensive. However, I would insist you to get an echocardiography done. It will help to find out if there is a cause for concern.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
