Suggest Treatment For Myasthenia Gravis
Anti body test, EMG
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Myasthenia Gravis involves muscular weakness and fatigability. Initial presentations are usually difficulty in swallowing and double vision/diplopia complaints. Facial muscle then proximal muscle weakness with progression in an asymmetric pattern can occur. Finally , severe progressive disease can affect the respiratory muscles itself.
Acetylcholine receptor antibody test should be done in a patient that presents with the above symptoms. For confirmation EMG (Electromyography) can be performed. An x ray chest should also be done to look for associated thymoma. If present in a patient with M.G , removal of the thymoma leads to improvement in such patients.
