Suggest Treatment For OCD While On Clonil

Cyproheptadine can be used
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
First of all I like to inform you that the delayed or absent ejaculation is well known side effect of clonil. This happens because there is excessive serotonin in certain areas of brain which control your ejaculation.
Regarding treatment I like to make it clear that there is no approved medicine which can help in early ejaculation.
However antihistamine medicine named cyproheptadine can be used for this purpose. Unfortunately it causes increased appetite and so weight gain. You need to be very careful in this regard as you may experience excessive weight gain due to clonil as well as cyproheptadine if used together.
The another option is amantadine, a medicine which can help in ejaculating on time. This particular medicine have lesser side effect profile and I think it can be preferred over cyproheptadine.
I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.

Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for follow up.
The earlier option is used in the dose range of 4-8 mg per day while amantadine is used in dose of 200 to 300 mg per day.
As explained above yes there are side effects but none of these two medicines are implicated in any serious side effects.
I hope this helps you further.
Thanks again.

Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for follow up.
In regard to weight management calorie restriction and regular exercise is the key. In case your current schedule of exercise and diet not able to help you appropriately seeing a dietitian is recommended.
The medicines in this regard have very limited effect although there is enough evidence in favour of topiramate.
I hope this helps you further.
Thanks again.
