Question: I am on Lexapro 40 mg, Keppra 1000 mg as mood stabilizer, Solian (amisulpride) 100 mg and Klonopin 2 mg. I have some OCD symptoms caused by amisulpride, because of agonism of 5HT7 and 5HT2b receptors and dopaminergic activity. Until now, i feel an improvement of 70 % of my symptoms and sometimes up to 80 % or even a little bit more. I am on Lexapro 40 mg since one week an a half ( i was before in 30 mg for some days and in 20 mg during some weeks) and i would like to know if i can expect a full recovery in another week and a half, because without this my psychiatrist maybe will give me a higher dosage of Keppra because it's said to help to the metabolism of Lexapro and mabe Lexapro cannot work enough because of the OCD effects of Solian. It's better to wait another week and a half or to try a higher dosage of Keppra since i would like to feel a full recovery in two weeks and i feel in despair?

Brief Answer:
It is better to wait

Detailed Answer:
Hi,thanks for your query. I have read it thoroughly and shall answer accordingly.

Your concerns are obvious.
Here, I would like to tell you that the dose of lexapro is already on a higher side because of your OCD symptoms. At the dosage of 40 mg, I would ask my patient to wait.

The keppra will inhibit the metabolism of lexapro to some extent so it may increase it's plasma concentration.

If you are on 40 mg of lexapro for a week or so, in my opinion you can wait for another 2 weeks for more improvement, after that you can discuss it with your psychiatrist and go according to plan.

If you have further query feel free to ask.
Wishing you good health.
