Suggest Treatment For PCOS

Question: I am a 27 year old female. I am 5'4" and 184 lbs. I don't have any significant medical history besides a possible diagnosis of PCOS which my ultrasound will confirm at the end of September. In this past month or two I have been having this pressure/tightness sensation in my head. I feel it mostly in the back of my head but it still occurs all around my head. It happens on and off t/o the day but mostly at night. It's like someone is squeezing my head and it's uncomfortably tight and scary. Plus I also have an awareness of tension in the back of my head. This also comes along with episodes of dizziness. It even makes it hard to sleep at night because just laying on the pillow adds extra pressure to my head. I don't experience any other symptoms. Just the tightness and dizziness. Any idea of what this might be? Could it be something minor like a pinched nerve or something as serious as a brain bleed or tumor? Please help. I'm worried. I might go into the walk in clinic tomorrow.
Brief Answer:
Need more details.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
I understand your health issue but don't worry because there is no relationship between your symptom and brain tumor.
Your symptoms may be due to your neck position and cause nerve compression but to make a proper diagnosis I need more details.
How long do you have the symptoms?
Do you work with computer and how much time?
Do you have a long neck?
Regards

Hi there.
I am happy to answer your questions. As far as the symptoms to go, I have that irritating awareness of tension in the back of my head and somewhat of a headache all day. The tightenings come every now and then throughout the day but mostly at night. I have also been very tired for the past few days. I am a nurse and occasionally work with computers and work but it's for a very short amount of time. In my personal life I use my computer quite a bit. There are some days (lazy days) where I watch shows on my computer for anywhere from 2-4 hours. I've been starting to think I need a better pillow, maybe more supportive. Sometimes I sit in bed with the pillow propped behind me too. The tightenings in my head probably started about a month ago on and off and mostly happens at night. The constant tension in the back of my head has lasted for about a week. I know that sometimes at work I get very sore when I'm sitting in a chair and charting for long periods of time. I have noticed my muscles are tight and I have knots in my back. And being a nurse we are always bent in different positions helping patients and what not. Oc course we are taught correct body mechanics which I'm sure we don't carry them out perfectly all the time. And as for your last question, I wouldn't say I have a long neck.
And the tightenings in my head usually last for maybe anywhere from 30 seconds to minute. Sometimes its short bursts of pressure and sometimes a constant one.

Thank you so much for answering my questions and giving me advice. I will be trying those things you suggested. I also went into the walk in clinic today just to be sure. Everything checked out ok but the Doctor was concerned about me waking up with headaches so he made a referral for me to get a CT just to check things out. I am happy to get opinions from both of you. Thanks again for your help!
